Life on Turtle Mountain Farm

Our adventures with horses, cats, dogs, and restoring a farm.

Spring 2017 Projects

When we bought the farm in 2010, the majority of the fencing was high-tensile wire. While it’s sturdy and long-lasting, high-tensile is not great for horses because of its low-visibility and ability to inflict serious injury if a horse runs through ¬†or kicks into it. We have been slowly replacing all the high-tensile sections on the farm with three or four-board fence (areas that are close to the road or get a lot of horsey traffic get an extra board), and we are finally getting close to finishing up!
